About me
Hayley Christen is a Coordinator with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Learning Services for Red Deer Public Schools. With over 25 years of experience as a teacher and a vice-principal, Hayley has dedicated her career to supporting students with diverse learning needs and at-risk youth.
In her current role, Hayley collaborates with school administrators and teachers to enhance their capacity to meet the needs of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students, fostering culturally inclusive schools and classrooms. She is a member of the Remembering the Children Society. She has held leadership roles, including serving on the executive of the ATA First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Education Council and as a board member of the Red Deer Native Friendship Society.
Hayley resides on Treaty Seven territory and is a descendant of Scottish and Swedish settlers, bringing a deep respect for reconciliation and cultural understanding to her work.
