Expressive Techniques in Acrylics & Mixed Media

Create personally meaningful and expressive works of art, inspired by nature and by using acrylic paint, mixed media and collage techniques. Develop techniques that create rich textural surfaces, glazed and stained fields of color, and aesthetic ways of organizing space. The strength, sensitivity and rhythm of form, line, value, shape, pattern, and color will be examined. The projects presented are suitable for all skill levels and abilities. Create therapeutic art while relaxing! Using concentric patterns and designs, create amazing decorative mandalas on paper. Learn how to add watercolour, ink and markers to decorate your patterns. The process of creating mandalas can be very meditative giving one an escape from the stress of daily life.
